Diva's FAQ

So recently Venassa over at Live Your Life posted a FAQ blog. Recently I thought about doing this but really there was two different ways I wanted to go about posting this. However I've decided to combine the two. So here are some of my most FAQ about myself that I get on sometimes a daily, sometimes a weekly basis.

1. What kind of makeup do you use?
Answer: my foundation changes frequently being that A I don't want to spend money on the good stuff and B that I don't feel like waiting on shipping. For the most part I use MAC cosmetics foundation in Studio Fix. If I go with drug store I use Maybelline Fit Me, so far its the best I've come across that doesn't end up splotchy by noon. As far as eyeshadow goes, I'm a junky with a problem. But seriously, last Christmas I bought a collection palette from Sephora and I still cannot get enough of it.

I love it! It comes in a box and when you unfold it it just keeps unfolding magical goodness.

2. Are you wearing colored contacts?
Answer: negative, bitches this shit is all me! I have naturally blue eyes and when the sunlight hits them just right, they practically glow.

Above is a high school picture, blue eyes. Shocker. Below is now, still blue eyes!

3. Where do you get your hair done? How do you get it to stay so poofy? (I combined these two to git-r-dun.
Though the majority of readers aren't from here, I'll inform you I go to The Chameleon to get my hair done by this sweet woman named Brandy. And my poofiness?

That. That right there is how I get my poofiness. Fat Hair "0" Calories hair spray is by far the besttttt hair spray ever. To the left of the Sephora box, second bottle over from the right, is Big Sexy Hair What A Tease, backcomb in a bottle. I use to tease my hair all the time and unlike most people it isn't hard for me to get the tease out. However I do lose hair in the process and it thins your hair out. So I give to you the best alternative yet. Seriously the backcomb in a bottle is amazing. I load my hair up with it every morning. From left to right: Big Sexy Hair blow dry volumizing gel, great base for give your hair a little extra oomph. Fat Hair hairspray, previously mentioned. Fat Hair "0" Calories hair thickening creme. Definitely a product you have to go easy with because if not, your hair will be greasy as hell and kind of matted. Then it's the What A Tease by Big Sexy Hair. Following it in the little can is OSIS Thrill. This is for after your hair is blow dried you get a tiny pinch of it and rub it between your fingers and kind of style and place your hair exactly where you want it. So there you have it, my poof.

3. Are you married?
Answer: you know the answer, no not yet.

4. In reference to my clothes I'm constantly asked "where did you get that at?"
Answer: I'm cheap. So basically everywhere you probably haven't looked. To name a few, Walmart, Target, Goodwill, Rainbow, TJ Maxx, and Body Central. The last three are for when I decide to splurge. I'm not like a lot of women, I rather pay very little and get a whole lot than pay a whole lot and get very little. However, a purse is something you should never cheap yourself on!

5. In reference to my office space and work, a lot of times I get asked "who does all the pretty writing?" "who does all the organizing" "who labeled everything so nicely?" so on so forth...
Answer: the one and only, me. I get OCD. I love organization. And if everything is in an organized manner work seems to be conquered much more efficiently.

That's all I got for now. Just like Venassa said at the end of her post, nothing is too personal so feel free to ask me questions that I can answer in a later post :) also go check out that hot mommas blog. :-P

show us your life- beauty tips & favorite products

Bailey, over at AddictedToAddison, made a "show us your life" post recently. Though I've been meaning to do the same, due to complications with my computer I'm just now getting to it. So let the fun begin!!

First and foremost, when it comes to make-up... I swear by M.A.C.! I started using it my freshman year in high school (approx. 8ish years ago, or something like that) and I've never went back to drug store cosmetics.:)

One. Prep+Prime Skin

I personally like to call this my magic potion :) You apply it before applying your foundation, and it helps keep your foundation in place throughout the day. Before I got this good stuff my makeup would be all blotchy and what not by the end of the day but considering it helps regulate the oil in your pores it keeps your foundation put.

Two. Zoom Lash

There's no mascara (that I've been able to find) that beats MAC's Zoom Lash. It's pretty much a tube filled with all your eyelash needs. It plumps, curls, and lengthens.

Three. Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15

This is the foundation I use. It's very light, so it doesn't feel like my face is caked on. It's the best coverage I have found from a foundation. I highly recommend getting this good stuff. And of course, it's MAC :]

Four. Select Sheer/Pressed

This is one of my all time favorite powders. I don't recommend using it without a light weight foundation underneath because it's not neccessarily the best for full on coverage. I always apply it on top of my Studio Fix because it's good for "setting" your foundation. Plus it extremely light, hence "sheer".

Five. Eyeshadow

First a foremost, MAC eyeshadow can be a little on the pricey side. It's sold at $14.50 per color, but that's why I pick and choose exactly what colors I get. (example: I don't go and buy a turquoise color for my halloween outfit, chances are I won't be wearing it very often so there's no need to spend that amount of money for just one color. ya dig?) Anyways, moving on. I get most of my basics from here. My two favorites that I just can't seem to get away from are the colors "Hush" and "Cranberry". MAC eyeshadows are extremely pigmented so when applying they appear exactly as they do in the case. (whereas if you buy covergirl and the color looks as though its black yet it goes on gray... now, if you buy mac black, trust me its going to be BLACK).

Six. Blush

Oh yes, it's true... I don't use ALL mac products. I really love cliniques blush. It's extremely light weight and well pigmented and it also blends extremely well.

Seven. Clinique's Skin Care

I use it all. The facewash, the toner, and the moisturizer. It's affordable and it keeps my face in shape. :)

Eight. Osis 'Dust-It'

This stuff it genius. I don't always feel like teasing my hair a little to get that good poof going so this stuff is good to keep in reach. It's like a powder and you just simply put it in your hands then mess your hair up then comb your hair into place. It's great for giving your hair some texture so you can work with it. This is a Schwarzkopf product so chances are you will either half to buy it online or through your cosmetologist.

Nine. GVP Hairspray

I've used pretty much all the salon hairsprays. None give me the "flexible hold" that I'm really looking for. Then my mom (a cosmetologist) told me about GVP products. GVP (generic value product) is sold at Sally's Beauty Supply. It's extremely cheap but they work. I've also used their root lifter as well as their volumizing gel, I'm a fan of both.

Ten. Chi Straightner

Ok I absolutely swear by my Chi. Nothing works better. I love it. :]

Hope you enjoyed 'my life'.

Good, Bad, & Ugly

Today has been wierd. It's been good, it's been bad, it's been ugly. I had a good day at work. Most of my customers were nice, minus the one bad apple I encountered but I didn't expect less. However the bigger issue in hand has been Jacob Riley. Let's start this off by saying I love this little boy more than anything in the entire world. I never knew the amount of love I was capable of having until he was brought into this world as well as my life. I love this little man as if I were the one that carried him for nine months and had the morning sickness and all. However, some things are not going according to planned. My mom had agreed to keep Jacob while my sister goes to work. She works from 7-3 Monday-Friday. In the beginning it sounded like the best idea possible. My mom is a stay at home mom/house wife and it would keep Jacob from having to be placed into daycare where all sorts of illnesses are being passed around from the flu to chicken pox and unfortunately H1N1. Needless to say someone that is watching him in daycare is not going to be able to provide the love and attention that my mother, his grandmother, could.
However, somethings got to give. All day long we play musical chairs with him. If he's not happy sitting in his swing, we put him in the play pin, if he's not happy there we move him to his bouncy seat, if he's not happy there then we move him to his bed... this goes on from 6AM to 4PM... 5 days a week. My mom can't get anything done around the house or anything that she wants to do (in which she has every right to do, she's already raised her kids...). Anyways long story short my mom can't take it anymore. I don't blame her. She constantly stressed and really it's a bigger deal then it sounds as told. Well this afternoon my mom finally through in the towel and said that she doesn't enjoy keeping him anymore because it stresses her out and she doesn't get to enjoy him because she's too busy mothering him. She agreed to keep him 3 of the 5 days however, my sister flipped out! She raised her voice and started literally yelling at my mother and finally my mom told her to "get the hell out of my house". Once again, I don't blame her. So there's been this huge uproar at home and it's driving me crazy. Poor little guy. I love him so much but my mom is getting too old for this. Sure she's only in her forties but still, it's not my moms place to take part in raising him as much as she is. What it boils down to is my sister is very ungrateful for all that my mom has done and all the money that my mother has saved her and somehow she just doesn't see that.

On another note. I'm suppose to call Jonathan back but for some reason I don't want to. I don't really care to talk to him right now. I'm not mad at him or anything like that but for one night I would like to be able to go to sleep without it involving tears and a stuffy nose. I want to be able to wake up for one morning not feeling hungover because the night before I cried myself to sleep so hard that it caused a migraine. I would like to be able to wake up one morning without swollen eyes and tear stained cheeks. I want my sanity back. I want to be able to stand on a solid ground without feeling like the ground is about to crumble. I've never been so tore up over a guy this much in my entire life. I feel like a little high school girl still blabbing about it. What am I suppose to do? My heart is hurting so much to the point I feel like it's literally broken. I didn't choose to not be with him nor did he choose to not be with me. It just so happened that our paths crossed and now all of a sudden they're going to opposite directions. As much as I want to, I just can't be mad at him for following his dreams. Just like he can't be mad at me for wanting to stick by my family. Blah okay, end subject. No tears, remember?
Tomorrow I going to be pulling a double shift. Hey, I'm not complaining! Hello dollar signs! For some reason though my legs are killing me. Probably from all the running around I did tonight. Ewfff. But yeah, so I'm going to head off here and catch some zzz's. Hopefully I can fall straight to sleep. I drank two beers to make me calm down and get a little sleepy, so maybe just maybe it'll put me straight to sleep. Dear thoughts, please do not invade my brain and keep me from a good nights rest. Kthanks.

Oh, oh! I almost forgot! Wal-mart is carrying a new makeup line in the place of Max Factor, it's called Eye Candy, or some shit like that, I forgot. But anyways, I bought some of their mascara tonight. I hope it works good. Oh and also, I bought that L'oreal roll on foundation just for shits and giggles. I use M.A.C. but I was super interested to see how it works out. Hey if it's cheap but works good, workkk it girllll. *okay let's be real, nothing beats a good ol' MAC foundation... and I do mean nothinggg!* Okay, I'm done.

Goodnight all. :]
