Who would've thought that a tree is so expensive?
I've recently been perusing furniture, and still continue to even though it makes me want to cry, and I never realized how expensive furniture actually is. It's wood, from a tree, shaped into something much more magnificent but stillllll! I find paying $100+ bucks just for a storage ottoman to be pretty outrageous. I'm going straight to plan B...and C for that matter. Goodwill/thrift stores and yard sales. I need to go ahead and put my bargain scavenger hunt boots on because IT'S ON!!
This week I plan on packing some of mine and Honey's things up eventually dwindling down to bare essentials. We really need to get rid of some things however I have a feeling that trying to get Honey to let go of some things is going to be more than a tough challenge.
In the weeks to come I need to:
Get some things for the house
Meet with the home inspector
Schedule an appraisal
Pack stuff from my parents house
Go through two storage buildings
Put stuff on Craigslist or host a yard sale
Paint the kitchen
Schedule pest control
And SO much more!

Buying furniture used is rarely worth it. I'm currently looking for a 'big girl couch'. Something that doesn't look like it belongs in a college student's apartment or someone's dirty basement. I wish I could find something really nice used, but there's nothing so far. So I feel your pain.
ReplyDeleteAnd good luck getting Honey to get rid of certain things. I think that's a battle all women go through when moving in with a guy.
