Music Monday's

This is my first Music Monday post! hehe. Post a song(s) that you are most recently obsessed with. Feel free to post lyrics, how you came by the song, etc. :)

Till It Happens to You By Corinne Bailey Rae
I know what I said
Was heat of the moment
But theres a little truth in between the words we've spoken
Its a little late now to fix the heart thats broken
Please don't ask me where I'm going
Cause I don't know
No I don't know anymore

It used to feel like heaven
Used to feel like may
I used to hear those violins playing heart strings like a symphony
Now they've gone away
Nobody wants to face the truth
But you wont believe what love can do
Till it happens to you
Till it happens to you

Went to the old flat
Guess I was trying to turn the clock back
How come that nothing feels the same now when I'm with you
We used to stay up all night in the kitchen
When our love was new
Oooh love I'm a fool to believe in you
Cause I don't know
No I don't know
Anymore

It used to feel like heaven
It used to feel like may
I used to hear those violins playing heart strings like a symphony
Now they've gone away
Nobody wants to know the truth
Until their hearts broken
Don't you dare tell them
What you think to do
Till they get over
You can only learn these things
From experience
When you get older
I just wish that someone would have told me
Till it happens to you
Till it happens to you
Till it happens to you

I was sitting at Starbucks when I heard the song "Like A Star" by Corinne Bailey Rae. I quickly fell in love with it so I came home and bought the CD off of iTunes. This was the fourth song on the CD and for some reason I continued to listen to it over and over again. I feel like it clearly wraps up everything I've been wanting to say, nevertheless it has a great beat to it. If you like Nora Jones, Macy Gray, and a little mix of Billie Holiday then you'll love the entire CD!

Cassie By Flyleaf
The question asked in order
To save her life or take it
The answer no to avoid death
The answer yes would make it
Make it

Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
Say yes to pull the trigger
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
And Cassie pulled the trigger

All heads are bowed in silence
To remember her last sentence
She answered him knowing what would happen
Her last words still hanging in the air
In the air

Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
Say yes to pull the trigger
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
And Cassie/Rachel pulled the trigger

How many will die
I will die
I, I will say yes

Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
Say yes to pull the trigger
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
And Cassie pulled the trigger

(Do you believe)
Do you believe in God (Do you believe)
Do you believe in God (Do you believe)
Do you believe in God
And I will pull the trigger

Okay, if you know anything about the Columbine High School Massacre then this song should basically make sense to you. If not here's the story: Cassie Bernal was a student at Columbine High School, where a massacre took place. Another student open fire on many others. When he came to Cassie he asked if she believed in God, after answering yes he shot her. The first shot didn't take her life so he asked her once more, "Do you believe in God?" her response was the same and the second shot took her life. The song is about dying for what you believe in. A very emotional song, beautifully written!

Anyways yeah Cassie is such a good song, I find myself listening to it quite a bit because it's always a reminder for me to fight for what I believe in.
